THIS is the first picture of the young Portuguese man treated like a son by shamed pop star Derek Longmuir.
The former Bay City Rollers drummer brought Jorge Loureiro to Scotland as a teenager and paid his way through college.
Jorge lived for around four years in Longmuir's flat near Holyrood Park in Edinburgh.
But Jorge is refusing to speak to police about Longmuir, who last week admitted keeping a stash of sickening child pornography in the top-floor flat.
Longmuir is known to visit Portugal regularly. Police found another Portuguese teenager in his flat when they raided it in September 1998.
Nelson Queiros, then 15, was sent home the next day.
Yesterday Longmuir's neighbours said Jorge, now 25, still visits the former rocker.
He has married local girl Michelle and they and their two children live in a flat in Edinburgh's tough West Pilton area.
Jorge, a painter and decorator, refuses to speak about his relationship with Longmuir.
But a woman claiming to be his mother-in-law said: "There was nothing wrong with their relationship.
"It was just like a father and son thing."
Jorge, who did a college painting and decorating course and English lessons at Longmuir's expense, has refused to help with police inquiries into the ex-Roller's activities.
A police insider said: "He was unwilling to be interviewed or co-operate with the investigation."
Longmuir's neighbours said that when the pair lived together in the mid-1990s, it was assumed their relationship was one of foster father and son.
Shirley McIntyre, 48, said: "Their relationship never really warranted special attention. I saw the lad visiting last week with his wife and two kids."
Another neighbour said: "As I understand it, he had adopted the boy. I believe it was a father-son type relationship.
"I did not pick up any suggestion of impropriety."
Meanwhile, Rollers fans have turned on Longmuir over his porn shame.
Gail Shackley, 37, who is organising a convention for former followers, said: "A lot of fans have very strong feelings about what has happened. They are disgusted."
One of the events at the convention in Edinburgh next month was to be an auction of band memorabilia for a children's charity.
But autographed pictures of Longmuir, who is now a nurse at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, are being withdrawn.
Longmuir, 48, who will be sentenced on March 24, has been in hiding since his court appearance.
