You can lie to those around you
You can manipulate, lie and deceive You can try to divide and conquer As you spin the tangled web you weave, You can push others to the sidelines Cos centre you must always be You can put others down and be a braggart And selfishly think "It's all about me". But the truth will always stand and endure What happened you can never unsee What happened is fact that can't be changed What happened is true and is history. One of the truths you try to deny One of the facts you can't seem to bare Is that Woody was one of the classic 5 Rollers Trying to deny that he was there! Early in the year of 1974 When my Roller fan life began Not only was Woody there, he was my fav And the favourite of millions of other fans! He was there (and gorgeous!) in '74 Watched by my friends and me When he sang Shang-a-lang and Summerlove Sensation When Top Of The Pops was on TV. A Bay City Rollers reunion announced Ecstatic fans await much nostalgic fun Unaware they're being played. The lies and deception had begun. False promises of a world tour And a BCR album that didn't exist Opportunities lost, reunion ruined Because of the antics of a narcissist. You made it all about yourself Putting down others with malevolent glee You couldn't bare sharing the limelight and the fans love for the other Rollers couldn't stand to see. People shouldn't deny the truth Because of their own insecurity Neither should they put others down Because of their hatred and jealousy In 74, one of the BCR was Stuart Wood The gorgeous one on guitar who we all called Woody Sometimes on keyboards he was there for all to see Don't attempt to re-write Bay City Rollers history! One of the classic 5 was my fav - Woody You can't try to change that cos of your insecurity. One of the classic 5 and favourites was Woody Don't try to deny the truth cos of jealousy. In the 70s one of the most loved Rollers was Woody And some were jealous of his popularity But the fans are not fooled, what you try to do we see We won't let you air brush him out of Roller history. We fans from the 70s know the truth and see Through the lies as you try to distort reality Your devious ways failed. Woody's deeply loved by us And has an honoured place in BCR history. Woody will always be loved by us fans Of that every true Roller fan will agree And no one will ever succeed in trying to re-write Bay City Rollers history!
